2012 Legends of the Autobahn - A Celebration of German automotive engineering!
Now in its fourth year, Legends of the Autobahn has become a local and regional sensation and in 2011, with the North American debut of the BMW 328 Homage concept car, gained international recognition.
Legends of the Autobahn, although still in its ‘infancy’ has sustained exponential growth since its 2009 debut as a stand alone BMW event. Event organizers, recognizing the potential for a ‘German Alternative’ event during the annual Monterey Sports Car Weekend, invited the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz clubs for the 2010 event. It has been well received by participants since then. And, we are pleased to announce the addition of the Audi club for 2012.
Still an intimate event by Monterey standards, Legends has been labeled as the “best ‘deal’ of the weekend” by several automotive publications. Club affiliation is recommended by organizers for entry into the event, for MBCA, club membership is required.
The event includes club ‘corral’ parking and separate judging areas for each club. There may be a separate parking area for ‘non-participants’. Each club is encouraged to have displays for special cars and are likely to include a general ‘theme’ for a deserving group of cars. Last year the BMW club honored the 25th anniversary of the e30 M3 and the Mercedes-Benz Club of America honored the 125th anniversary of the marque. Attendees can register either for the club corrals or judging.
A special lunch will be available or you may bring your own picnic lunch. Event shirts are also available.
Please register early for this event as space is limited.
