2016 Arizona Concours d'Elegance

The third-annual Arizona Concours d’Elegance at the historic Arizona Biltmore Resort will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2016, serving once again as the startup and focal point for the annual Classic Car Week in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area.

The Arizona Concours, an exclusive celebration of fine automobiles in an intimate setting, also has announced its three featured classes for 2016: Duesenberg, Coachwork by Zagato and Exceptional Cars of Great Britain. Those special classes will join more than a dozen standing classes that will be judged during the Concours, culminating in the Best of Show.

The 2015 Arizona Concours held this past January hosted a magnificent collection of 87 vintage automobiles displayed on the landscaped inner lawns of the Arizona Biltmore, as the Arizona Concours built on the strong success of its inaugural year, and again earned high praise from spectators, entrants and the media. Sunday’s attendance was a sellout and the two Saturday seminars – the Phoenix Automotive Press Association auction preview and the Elegance at Speed racecar design forum – also were very well attended.

The balmy Arizona weather added its luster to the Concours as did the event’s list of special guests, which included honorees Sir Stirling Moss and Norman Dewis, OBE, as well as Nigel Bennett, Peter Brock, Kip Wasenko, Glenn Mounger, Clive Cussler, Ken Gross and Lyn St. James.

On the Monday after the Concours, the entrants and their vintage cars were treated to the Tour d’Elegance, visiting Taliesin West, the David Wright House and the Scottsdale Automotive Museum.

The Arizona Concours d’Elegance benefits Make-A-Wish Arizona, the founding chapter of the national organization that grants wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions, and more than $70,000 was raised to fund future wishes during 2015.

Preparations for the 2016 Arizona Concours d’Elegance have begun, and potential entrants are encouraged to submit their vehicle for consideration at www.arizonaconcours.com. Additionally, the Arizona Concours mobile app can be downloaded from the website. For those planning to attend, make your plans early, as Arizona Concours tickets and hotel availability will be limited.
