The latest creations of the finest automotive artists of our day are displayed annually at the Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS) Exhibition — located right on the show field of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The automobile changed the whole of our culture almost immediately upon its introduction; it was more than transportation, it served as a status symbol, it was a matter of style. But it took some time for the art world to view the automobile as an appropriate subject of fine art.

In 1983, a group of respected artists with automotive interests formed AFAS to rectify this. They organized their first major exhibition at the 1986 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and it was such a success that it quickly became a regular feature. In 2010, the exhibition celebrated its 25th anniversary!
