RM Auctions returns to the heart of London, 31 October 2012, for the UK’s premier collector car auction at Battersea Evolution. Boasting a reputation as one of Europe’s consistently best performing collector car auctions, the sale will present more than 90 exceptional automobiles to the world’s elite collectors.

Leading a long list of notable entries secured for the sale is an ultra-rare, alloy-bodied 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing,  one of only 29 alloy-bodied examples built by the factory, and a race-bred 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Scaglietti Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ with exceptional pedigree including multiple entries in the famed Mille Miglia retrospective. British marques are well represented by a highly desirable 1952 Bentley Continental R-Type Fastback Sports Saloon, the first R-Type Continental unveiled to the public at the 1952 London Motor Show, and a 1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Drophead Coupé with coachwork by Carlton. Among other featured highlights,  the sale will also include more than 20 examples from Holland’s respected Zegwaard collection, including two Chevrolet Bell Air Convertibles, two Mercedes-Benzes and a 2008 Bugatti 16.4 Veyron.

Beyond the automobiles, collectors of classic two-wheelers will have the opportunity to bid upon a pair of ‘Best of British’ motorcycles, including a, award-winning 1926 Brough Superior SS100 Alpine Grand Sports, one of a handful of surviving matching-numbers, early JAP-Engined SS100’s supported by a works record card from the Brough Superior Club, and a delightful, fully restored, matching-numbers 1952 Vincent Series C Black Shadow.
