RM Auctions lifts the gavel on the renowned Charlie Thomas Collection during a single-day, single-vendor sale on October 20, at the Gaylord Texan Resort near Dallas, Texas. With plans to downsize the Texas-sized collection, the sale will offer more than 175 collector cars ranging from American Classics to early flatheads, ’50s convertibles, and ’60s muscle and sports cars, all without reserve.

The result of two decades of careful and dedicated acquisition by prominent Texas businessman, former owner of the Huston Rockets, and lifelong auto enthusiast Charlie Thomas, the collection has a strong emphasis on fully-restored, well-optioned, running and driving examples. Fords will be prominently featured in the sale, with no less than 80 examples offered, including a wide selection of flathead Fords joined by a series of icons from the fifties and sixties, such as Thunderbirds and Mustangs. Highlights include a fully-optioned 1935 Ford Deluxe Three-Window Coupe finished in Washington Blue, an award-winning 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible, and a distinctive 1954 Ford Skyliner “Glasstop”. The diverse offering also includes a number of other celebrated American marques, including but not limited to Auburn, Buick, Cadillac, Desoto, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pierce-Arrow, and Packard. Highlights include a well-optioned 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible, a breathtaking 1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III Convertible, and an exceptionally restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air ‘Fuel-Injected’ Convertible.
